Fall by Rachel Howard

Fall

Fall, fall silently,
the malevolent fog
storms the city.
The headlong crash
on the tarmac.
“The starving windows”
inward, outwards
glass melts.
The calls
“I love you”
“I can’t get out”
“Be with you sir
stay there, stay there.”

Fall, fall silently.

Patricia Osborne was born in Wales and now lives in Brighton. She writes poetry and is a teacher.
